This country is a tropical paradise filled with a number of ecosystems and microclimates. Costa Rica canopy tours are an exhilarating way to experience the plants and animals of the Costa Rica rain forest.

From the Monteverde Cloud Forest to the Arenal Volcano, there are a number of different places you can experience Canopy tours in Costa Rica. The ecosystems high in the sky has only begun to be explored in the past two decades, using climbing gear combined with construction cranes. These same devices allow you, too an opportunity to get up close and personal with the incredible life in the Costa Rica rain forest.

Companies like Sky Treks provide perhaps the best zip line Costa Rica has to offer. They take you on the zip lines of Arenal Volcano, which is one of the most extensive tours. It takes you way up high then you drop down low, whizzing within feet of hot streams. Other Costa Rica canopy tours use modified ski lifts to take you over a hundred feet in the air. Rest assured that the platforms are well built if you're afraid of heights. You might lose your fear of flying when you encounter a vine snakes or a brightly colored poisonous frog. A Costa Rica rain forest is also home to friendlier inhabitants such as sloths and hundreds of types of birds.

While most people of all ages can partake in one of these experiences, some are more strenuous than others, and might involve pulling yourself along the cables up to one of the platforms. Other older platforms don't even have these zip lines and require you to simply hoist yourself up.

Costa Rica biological reserves are some of the best places to see the abundant wildlife of the Costa Rica rainforest. The Original Canopy Tour goes to such a place, and has 2 and a half hour tours in Monteverde on their high tech NASA cables. They also have a tour at Iguana Park, near the capitol of San Jose. Selvatura Park has a tamer version of canopy tours in Costa Rica with its 8 different bridges of varying sizes. These are great for people of all ages. Take a guided tour or you can just enjoy the walk on your own.

Costa Rica Zip Line

You will want to come prepared with a t-shirt, long sleeved pants, and insect repellant. Aside from this, a sense of adventure is the most important thing you can bring with you when you're going to on one of the many different Costa Rica Canopy tours or take the best zip line Costa Rica offers for a great thrill.
