Costa Rica Cruises

Boasting rainforests, pristine beaches, picturesque volcanoes and so much more, it’s easy to see why Costa Rica cruises are becoming more popular.  Whether you are sailing to or from Costa Rica, you will have the chance to explore some of the best Costa Rica attractions along the way.  Costa Rica cruises allow you to relax and leave the “driving” up to someone else.  As you stop at your various points of interest, you will have the chance to drop in on interesting towns and stunning national parks.  Cruises to Costa Rica generally include stops in Panama, at such locations as the Panama Canal and San Blas Islands.  Costa Rica cruise packages typically include your on-land accommodations, as well as meals and educational tours.  Book an all inclusive Costa Rica cruise and all you have to do is make sure you show up in time for departures.  Modern day cruise ships are like floating cities, in many regards, offering plenty on board to keep you busy while at sea.

Generally, if you are thinking of booking one of the cruises to Costa Rica, your docking point on the eastern side will probably be the city of Limon, while the region of Puntarenas is a popular docking point on the country’s west coast.  Puerto Caldera is the main docking point at Puntarenas, and it is a prime location from which to explore Costa Rica.  Depending on which cruise line you choose to go with, possible embarking points for cruises leaving the United States are found in the eastern cities of New York, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale, while west coast cities like Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego and Canada’s Vancouver are also possible starting points.  Some cruises to Costa Rica originate in Panama, and Costa Rica cruises originating within Costa Rica use Puerto Caldera as their primary shove-off site.  Most cruises to Costa Rica have Panama’s Panama Canal as a major focus for the area, and as such, Costa Rica is just one stop along the way.  And what a unique and superb stopping point it is.  Costa Rica is not only one of the more friendly countries in the world, but also one of the most beautiful and ecologically diverse.

If you want to get in early on your all inclusive Costa Rica cruise, then you can book your place now.  Cruises to Costa Rica will generally include stops along the way at such places as Aruba, Barbados, the Panama Canal and Venezuela, so you can add your Costa Rica adventure to an impressive list of destinations.  Upon arrival in Costa Rica, the options for onshore excursions are varied and plenty.  Jungle kayaking, horseback riding, banana plantation tours, river cruises and canopy adventures are all possible onshore tours you can enjoy in Costa Rica.  A cruise originating out of Panama, for instance, includes a visit to the impressive Manuel Antonio National Park, where naturalists lead guests on a walking wildlife tour.  Some cruises offer city and area tours of Costa Rica’s capital city of San Jose as well, which gives visitors the chance to explore a more urban environment.

Finding Costa Rica cruise packages is easier than ever, since a quick internet search will reveal a number of possible itineraries that you might consider.  Some cruise companies offer special discounts, and it is always worth checking for savings when searching for Costa Rica cruise packages.  If you want to make Costa Rica the focus of your journey, the Costa Rica cruises originating out of Puerto Caldera bring guests to some of the country’s best west coast destinations, such as Playa del Coco in Guanacaste, and Tortuga Island, which is found off the southern shores of Costa Rica’s scenic Nicoya Peninsula.  Tortuga Island is one of the most popular islands in the country when it comes to tourism, and besides offering excellent snorkeling and scuba diving, it’s tropical beaches are utterly ideal for relaxation.  Most Costa Rica cruises that feature Tortuga Island also generally add an additional stop at the eco-rich Curu Wildlife Reserve, where viewing wild Costa Rican animals is among the main pursuits.  See monkeys, macaws, rare mammals and so much more.

Finding an all inclusive Costa Rica cruise is a pretty easy task, as most cruises offer packages that are more or less all inclusive.  Generally, on top of accommodations and meals, an all inclusive Costa Rica cruise will include a restricted number of onshore tours and excursions.  Other onshore excursions might cost extra, but with prices for these generally being quite agreeable, they are certainly worthy of consideration.  Some Costa Rica cruise packages have you sailing on what seems less like the average cruise ship, and more like a yacht.  There are a myriad of choices for Costa Rica cruises, so doing a bit of research should reveal the trip most suitable to your wants and needs.  Remember to check for discounts, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
