Managua Nicaragua

Managua Nicaragua

Managua Nicaragua is a busy capital city of 1.4 million people and is chock full of some of the most interesting tourist attractions in Nicaragua. The city is characterized by colorful colonial style buildings and a friendly atmosphere. Managua nightlife rivals other big cities in Latin America. Including a trip to a local nightclub is sure to make your Managua travel experience memorable. If you’re touring Nicaragua this summer, be sure to stop by Managua Nicaragua to experience a metropolis like no other.

Dance the night away or enjoy the local Nicaraguan cuisine at one of the restaurants and nightclubs in Managua Nicaragua. One area of town that has some great restaurants, bars, and attractions in Managua is Zona Rosa. Locals and tourists love Hipa Hipa bar for a relaxed, casual atmosphere where you can enjoy a beer and watch a soccer game. Marcelo’s Sport Bar is another popular spot in the area to play pool, listen to music, and feast on large portions of terrific food. Managua nightlife especially comes alive during the Holy Week in early April and during other religious events.

Zona Rosa is also the place to go for around-the-clock gambling with a distinctive Nicaraguan flair. Pharaohs Casino at the Camino Real Hotel is open 24 hours a day and features nine table and poker games along with 140 gaming machines. The connected hotel is the perfect place to rest your head after a night of partying and gambling. Relax poolside as you sip margaritas made with Nicaraguan rum, which is considered one of the finest in the world. The hotel’s lush, tropical grounds and laidback atmosphere make you feel miles from the hustle and bustle of the city.

If you’ve had enough Managua nightlife for one vacation, take time to visit other great Managua travel destinations. The Palacio Nacional de la Cultura is the place to go if you want to learn everything there is to know about Managua history and art. Some of the art at the museum dates back to the 1500s, when the Spanish arrived. Another hot spot is Centro Cultural Managua, a cultural center that pays tribute to the history of Nicaragua by hosting historical and art exhibitions, as well as arts-and-crafts festivals the first Saturday morning of the month. For handcrafted local souvenirs, head to one of the many mercados, or markets, in Managua. The largest of these markets is Mercado Central. If you’re having trouble finding it, ask one of the friendly residents in Managua.

Anyone who is planning a Managua travel itinerary surely knows about Nicaragua’s history of natural disasters, including volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. You can see remnants of volcanic eruptions all around the city: The Laguna de Asososca and the Laguna de Acahualinca are two volcanic crater lakes in the Managua area that are worth exploring.

For transportation around Managua, the city buses are inexpensive and frequent. It’s important to be alert on the bus, as pickpockets often find their targets there. You can also take a taxi to see the many attractions in Managua. When you get in the taxi, be sure to talk with the driver and agree on your fare in advance, since the taxis don’t have meters.

You’ll find an enormous variety of hotels in Managua Nicaragua. Worldwide chain hotels such as Hilton can be found in nearly all parts of the city and provide comfortable accommodations for Managua travel. There are also some terrific all-inclusive resorts in Managua Nicaragua where you can have everything you need right at your fingertips.

The city of Managua is one Latin American destination that you don’t want to miss. From glitzy night clubs to outdoor shopping where you can find just what you’re looking for, Managua travel is the perfect addition to any trip to Nicaragua.
