Belfast Hotels

While the lively avenues and funky shops entice many a traveler, Belfast hotels provide invitingly cozy rooms in which to rest, kick up your feet, and leisurely appreciate the magnetism and energy of this bustling Irish city. Whether you’re looking for a Bed and Breakfast on the outskirts of town, roomy hotel rooms near the airport, or a hostel in downtown Belfast, accommodations of all types are available.

The popular choice for many travelers is a relaxing stay at a quaint, red-bricked Bed and Breakfast in Belfast. The Botanic Lodge Guesthouse is a favorite B&B, located in the university district. The Botanic is a charming, red-brick building, with private rooms and shared bathrooms. The Eglantine is another popular choice. It is family-run, and the house is magnificent with its careful brickwork and an elegant terrace that has a lovely view of downtown Belfast. Other B&Bs include the Pearl Court Guesthouse, the Marine Guesthouse, and the QUB Common Room.

Pearl Court boats big breakfasts and elegantly spacious bedrooms, while the Marine offers a large brick villa located on a secluded leafy lane. There is one notably organic Bed and Breakfast in Belfast: the Camera Guesthouse located on Wellington Park. This little Victorian establishment serves only organic food for breakfast, and guests can munch on tasty fruit and vegetables as they gaze out on the lush, tree-lined streets of Belfast.

Most B&Bs are located on the city outskirts, with the majority of hotels in Belfast central. Although guesthouses and hostels tend to be more popular with travelers, there are also standard hotels in Belfast, such as Benedict’s of Belfast, Holiday Inn Belfast, and the Wellington Park Hotel. If you are looking for lodging near Belfast Airport hotel rates tend to be higher. The Fitzwilliam International Hotel and the Park Avenue Hotel are both excellent, if pricy, options.

The Fitzwilliam is located immediately opposite the terminal at Belfast international airport, and the Park Avenue Hotel is only a moment’s drive from the Belfast city airport. For visitors on a budget, Belfast discount hotels are also available. Some options include the Farset International in West Belfast and Queen’s Elms near the university. In Belfast discount hotels tend to include only basic rooms and amenities.

Many young travelers, living on a shoestring, will either stay in hostels or in Belfast discount hotels. The avid budget traveler will more likely opt for a clean, well-reputed youth hostel rather than search for a moderately inexpensive Belfast hotel. Belfast hostels tend to attract the younger crowd, with patrons ranging from teenagers to 30-year-olds. However, some hostels do not allow clients over a certain age, so be sure to ask about age restrictions when making your reservations. Adventurers concerned about sharing a room with strangers can reserve private hostel rooms at slightly higher rate.

If you fly into the Belfast Airport hotel accommodations can be arranged at one of the many tourism kiosks located in the Arrivals section of the airport. There are also a number of online Belfast Airport hotel guides that can help weary travelers quickly and easily locate lodging, either from the convenience of their home computer or at an airport internet café.

Besides the many exceptional Belfast Hotels, visitors can book stays at a wide variety of B&Bs, guesthouses, hostels, and discount hotels. This city is quickly becoming a favorite among Ireland tourists, so making reservations early is a must, especially if you want to stay at one of the many prized Bed and Breakfasts in Belfast.
