San Miguel De Allende Mexico

San Miguel De Allende Mexico

San Miguel de Allende Mexico is a historic town that has been around since the year 1542. Although it’s not as popular with international tourists as the resort cities of Cancun and Cozumel, the city is a well-known tourist destination for people throughout Mexico. Located in the mountainous bajio region on the eastern edge of Guanajuato, San Miguel De Allende Mexico is full of beautiful churches and a collection of scenic outdoor attractions, making it the perfect place to take a vacation.

Without question, one of the most popular attractions in San Miguel De Allende Mexico is Jardin, the central town square. This is the place where you can see musicians and street performers, have a picnic, or sit down under a tree and read a book. After experiencing the activity at Jardin, you can walk to one of the many historical churches in town, such as the Oratorio or the Parroquia.

If you enjoy shopping, you won’t want to miss the Tuesday Market just on the edge of town. The lively market is a terrific place to buy fresh produce, clothing, or crafts. The souvenirs sold at the Tuesday Market are significantly cheaper than the ones that are sold in central San Miguel de Allende.

Swimming, whether it be in the ocean or in a pool, is a popular activity in Mexico. One of the best attractions in San Miguel de Allende for swimming enthusiasts is La Gruta, a park with four hot springs pools. The pools vary in temperature from luke warm to a temperature that is nearly unbearable. Some people visit La Gruta to be baptized by the natural hot spring water.

Although there are many attractions in San Miguel de Allende, most people enjoy simply exploring the shops, parks, and outdoor cafes that line the streets. If you’re looking for attractions in San Miguel De Allende or things to do on a Sunday, you can take a House and Garden Tour. The tour visits the homes and gardens that are normally hidden behind giant walls throughout the town. The tour departs every Sunday at noon from the public library in town. Another option is the Saturday Hacienda tour. The three-hour tour allows you to visit haciendas and ranchos just outside of town.

If you’re taking a San Miguel De Allende vacation, there are two international airports nearby. The Aeropuerto del Bajio is located around a hundred miles from San Miguel De Allende and is served by several major airlines. A closer option is the Aeropuerto Internacional de Queretaro, which is located around 40 miles from San Miguel de Allende. The cheapest option is flying into Mexico City, which is a four-hour drive from San Miguel de Allende.

Many people feel that the best time to take a San Miguel De Allende vacation is anytime from mid-December to the beginning of April when the weather is at its best. The week of Easter, or Semanta Santa, is a popular time to travel to the city. The streets are full of festivities such as live musical performances, dances, and parades.
