Rehoboth Beach Delaware

Rehoboth Beach Delaware

Dubbed “The Nation’s Summer Capital”, Rehoboth Beach Delaware is arguably the state’s best beach destination. Found on Delaware’s southern Atlantic Coast, Rehoboth Beach is just 90 miles southeast of the capital city of Dover, and just approximately 30 north miles of Ocean City, Maryland. Rehoboth Beach Delaware is casual and stylish at the same time, and it is an excellent place to do some shopping. It’s not all about stunning ocean views and the renowned Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. Outside of town, you’ll find some of the best Delaware outlet stores, and the variety of downtown shops is surely impressive. From antiques to t-shirts, you can probably buy it during your Rehoboth Beach vacation. Complimenting Rehoboth Beach’s shopping scene is its favorable dining scene. Whether you’re in the mood for a gourmet meal, or just want to kick back and enjoy a casual dining affair, the Rehoboth Beach restaurants and eateries have you covered.

One of the great things about a Rehoboth Beach vacation is that it can be paired with a bunch of other interesting East Coast destinations, should you be interested. A two-hour car ride can get you from Rehoboth Beach to cities like Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. The small town feel of this beach resort makes it a quieter destination than nearby Ocean City, so perhaps you will be interested in a few tranquil days here before or after you hit the Maryland coast. A Rehoboth Beach vacation can easily be paired with the nearby city of Dewey Beach. Between the two beach towns there’s plenty to keep you and your group busy. Of course, you can always just make Rehoboth Beach travel the focus of your next vacation. You could certainly spend a bunch of time here and not want for more. Though the high season for Rehoboth Beach travel falls in the Summer months, you can visit this charming beachside city any time of year. On your Rehoboth Beach vacation, you’ll have a nice selection of Rehoboth Beach hotels to select from. From bed and breakfasts to vacation rentals, this place has it all when it comes to lodging, or at least close to it.

Among the top Rehoboth Beach Delaware attractions is the downtown, mile-long boardwalk. You can choose to walk, rollerblade, bike or jog the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, and you might stop along the way to enjoy a round of miniature golf or a bandstand musical performance. Rehoboth Beach has quite a few yearly festivals, some of which take place near the Boardwalk, and if you are an early riser, it’s a great place to take in the sunrise. Dolphins and pelicans are known to be spotted along the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, and you’ll even find a small amusement park here. While there are fine-dining spots in Rehoboth Beach Delaware, it’s always nice to treat yourself to a little bit of junk food on the Boardwalk. French Fries, a slice of pizza, an ice cream cone, and sweet caramel corn are just some of the tasty treats you can choose from. When the weather is warm, you can bet that the beach will be calling. Both Rehoboth Beach and nearby Dewey Beach are good places to enjoy watersports like catamaran sailing and windsurfing. The white sand beaches are ideal for long walks, and the natural dunes help to make it all the more picturesque. Just north of Rehoboth Beach is Cape Henlopen State Park, where you will find one of the higher sand dunes on the entire East Coast of the United States. If you are enjoying Rehoboth Beach travel in the late Fall, you can check out the bird species found here at Gordon’s Pond. This is surely a treat for bird lovers, as you will likely spot a bald eagle, an osprey, and/or a piping plover.

For those who are interested in sampling a bit of Delaware golf, there are plenty of courses found close to Rehoboth Beach, including the Old Landing Golf Course and the Heritage Inn and Golf Club. As mentioned in the opening paragraph, shopping is a top pursuit to be enjoyed on a Rehoboth Beach vacation. Delaware does not have a sales tax, and so you might be tempted to spend a little extra time perusing the downtown shops or hanging out at the outlet stores just outside of town on Route 1. Unique boutique shops, outlets, alluring art galleries, and an array of specialty shops team together to make Rehoboth Beach shopping extra rewarding. When it’s time to pamper yourself, you might hit one of the area spas. Many visitors on a Rehoboth Beach vacation choose to hit one of the city’s spas, which are in good supply. Also, don’t forget to check for any festivals that might coincide with your Rehoboth Beach vacation. There’s so many of them, you’re bound to have the chance to enjoy one regardless of which month you visit.
