Sun Valley Hotels

The ski village resort of Sun Valley has long been recognized as one of the premier ski resort destinations in the world. Sun Valley was the first ski village resort destination of its kind, and currently Sun Valley residents are of the affluent persuasion. While there are many options for purchasing a second home or condo in Sun Valley, there are also plenty of Sun Valley hotels available for vacationers who just want to spend a weekend skiing or hanging out. Sun Valley hotels in general are quite comfortable, and Sun Valley Idaho hotels specifically offer a range of homes, condo rentals, lodges and hotels.

If you are looking for Sun Valley hotels in the heart of the action, the Sun Valley Resort is likely the best choice. Sun Valley Idaho hotels certainly don’t get much bigger than the Sun Valley Resort. With over 500 rooms and 100 separate apartments available, there is generally someplace to stay at this premier type of Sun Valley Idaho hotels. The Sun Valley Resort is close to the mountain, close to retail shops, and close to restaurants in the village.

Other Sun Valley lodging in the area includes hotels that are a bit smaller, but still very nice, including the Best Western Kentwood Lodge located in Ketchum, which is only about a 10 minute drive from the heart of Sun Valley. Sun Valley lodging at this hotel is a popular choice for many travelers who are looking for a lower rate but would still like to be close enough to the ski resort to enjoy all of the downhill action.

Sun Valley lodging is also available at the Best Western Tyrolean Lodge, which is found near the River Run chairlift. This hotel in Sun Valley Idaho is also a popular choice for families or groups looking to find accommodation for a lower rate. One advantage Sun Valley has over other Idaho ski resorts such as Schweitzer, Silver Mountain, Tamarack Resort or Soldier Mountain is the concentrated style of the Sun Valley village, where visitors can do everything from shopping and ice-skating to skiing or going out to a nice dinner.

Wherever you find yourself staying in Sun Valley, the city is chalk full of great things to do. While winter is the high season for Sun Valley, summer is also a popular time to stay. Mountain biking the trails and using the chairlift to climb high into the mountains for a hike are popular ways to enjoy Sun Valley in the warmer months.
