Tourists looking for a good play will also have a venue designed for them. The Shepherd of the Hills Homestead and Outdoor Theater is an outdoor amphitheater which weekly shows the play adapted from the 1907 novel by Harold Bell Wright, The Shepherd of the Hills. This novel is set in the Ozarks and is noted as the first story to bring outside attention to the Ozarks and the people living there.
