New Jersey Shopping

New Jersey Shopping

If your idea of taking a vacation includes coming back with more luggage than you left with, then New Jersey shopping may be just the thing to draw you to the Garden State. Since New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the United States, retailers set up shop here in droves in order to serve the residents and tourists of New Jersey, making New Jersey Shopping a way to get some great deals for the consumer. New Jersey shopping includes endless beach and souvenir shops on the Jersey Shore’s many boardwalks, shopping malls in New Jersey, and of course, outlet shopping New Jersey is the way to score bargains!

New Jersey is one of the places where malls began to thrive in the 1950s. Drawing upon the cities of Philadelphia and New York City, as well as New Jersey’s own population, shopping malls in New Jersey drew buyers to the suburbs for shopping all at once, rather than browsing main street storefronts for goods

Today, the trend continues as shopping malls in New Jersey continue to offer quality products and experiences without the 5th Avenue prices. Paramus, a city in Bergen County, is practically built around four major shopping malls, giving it the most retail sales revenue of any zip code in the US. Come to the Bergen Town Center (formerly known as the Bergen Mall), or the vast Westfield Garden State Plaza, in order to see why Paramus is an absolute Mecca for shopping malls in New Jersey, and even the entire east coast. Other notable shopping malls in New Jersey include the malls in Bridgewater Township, as well as the Pier Shops at Caesars’ in Atlantic City, the Menlo Park Mall in Edison, and the Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City.

A more classic way to enjoy New Jersey shopping is to take in the old specialty and antique shops along the Jersey Shore. Atlantic City is becoming known for its antiques, and the boardwalk here includes many souvenir shops for New Jersey memorabilia. Buy a Monopoly board game here, because this game is based on Atlantic City’s real estate and commercial development, and the boardwalk is the most expensive property! Other boardwalks for your New Jersey shopping pleasure are found in Wildwood and Ocean City, both featuring over two miles of shops and attractions. Seaside Heights features a boardwalk promenade famous for beach gear shops, but if you are into surfing, you must visit Long Beach Island’s Ron Jon Surf Shop, the original 1961 location (now a four story mega surf shop) for this surf gear mainstay.

If you want to save money while you spend it, think Outlet shopping New Jersey! Due to the amount of manufacturing in New Jersey, many businesses here rely on outlet malls and single outlets to reduce inventory. The good news is: outlet shopping New Jersey allows you to get name brand items at a fraction of the cost. The largest outlet mall is Jersey Gardens outlet mall in Elizabeth, just 15 minutes from Midtown Manhattan. Savvy shoppers visiting Jersey or NYC will try this outlet’s 175 stores and restaurants for great deals on clothing as well as items for the home from the nearby IKEA. A special exit was constructed from the New Jersey Turnpike to accommodate shoppers. This is not your typical outlet mall, as it is indoors, and even hosts an annual performance by the New Jersey Youth Symphony. Secaucus is another great destination if you plan on outlet shopping New Jersey.

Buy an extra suitcase for the way home, because New Jersey shopping will entice visitors to pull out the credit cards and swipe away.
