Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls New York and Niagara Falls Ontario is a vast series of waterfalls of the Niagara River, located in the northeastern portion of the United States and spanning the US border into Canada. It is actually a complex of three separate falls, including Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. Niagara Falls has a long history and wild popularity with industrialists who have strived to harness its incredible hydroelectric power potential, conservationists dedicated to preserving its natural beauty, and risk-takers who took hurling themselves over its edge as the ultimate challenge. Since Sam Patch's famous 1829 plunge over Horseshoe Falls, several daredevils have hurled themselves over the Niagara Falls complex for the thrill of a lifetime. Such shenanigans are illegal and strictly prohibited on both the US and Canadian sides, but visitors can read all about these foolhardy individuals at various tour points while taking in the incredible Niagara Falls view.

Niagara Falls New York and Niagara Falls Ontario share the duty of this international monument, and together offer the Niagara Falls vacationer a visit they won't forget. Traditionally known for its appeal to honeymooners, today Niagara Falls travel offers something for everyone in the family. Several walking tours---both guide-led and self-guided-are available on both the US and Canada sides of the falls, and visitors may wish to book a tour on the Maid of the Mist, Niagara Falls' famous sightseeing boat tour. The Niagara Falls view is generally regarded as better from the Canadian side, and many of the attractions are based there, such as the Niagara Botanical Gardens, Butterfly Conservatory, and Skylon Tower.

Niagara Falls travel hits its peak during summer, when Niagara Falls serves as both a daytime and evening attraction. From the Canadian side, floodlights illuminate both sides of the fall until midnight, creating a mesmerizing nighttime Niagara Falls view.

Niagara Falls travel is a well-attended industry, and several Niagara Falls vacation packages are available, ranging from the budget-conscious to the deluxe. The Niagara Falls area is easily accessible by car and tour bus, and is adjacent to the Niagara Falls International Airport (birthplace of the world's first supersonic airplane and commercial helicopter!). Several hotels and restaurants serve the area, and options are numerous. Niagara Falls travel is made even easier by booking your travel itinerary well in advance.

Niagara Falls New York and Niagara Falls Ontario provide the visitor with an enchanting glimpse into a North American natural wonder. Seeing the famous Niagara Falls view first-hand will surely make for a lifelong memory.
