Greensboro Hotels

Greensboro Hotels

Greensboro hotels are found in large numbers close to the Greensboro Coliseum, which draws sports lovers and concert goers all year long to enjoy this indoor arena and stadium. A number of business conferences and trade shows also take place here, which serves to increase the number of hotels in Greensboro close to the arena. The Greensboro Historical Museum and the Richard Petty Museum are also big attractions in the city, whether you come just to enjoy them or fit them in while in town for some other North Carolina event. The best deals on cheap hotels in Greensboro can usually be found closer to the airport, further away from the coliseum and downtown.

Andrea’s Troy – Bumpas Inn

Among Greensboro hotels, this is one of the only ones listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in the 19th century, this Greensboro hotel specializes in antique furniture and décor, including many items which predate the Civil War. Prices, which are between $95 and $150 for the night, include a full country breakfast, with southern-style treats such as pastry shrimp or special gravy. There are less than a dozen units at this Greensboro hotel, so be sure to book well in advance if you plan to stay here.

Crestwood Suites

This is another of the best places to go for those looking for cheap hotels in Greensboro. Prices start at $80 per night and go up to $160. As an all-suite hotel, the Crestwood Suites offer small kitchenettes and extra living space in all of its rooms. This is one of the hotels in Greensboro that is great for business travelers, as it is just a few moments away from the Greensboro Airport. Amenities include a business center, complimentary coffee and an on-site laundry facility as well as a workout room.

Oak Ridge Bed and Breakfast

The Oak Ridge is one of the most romantic Greensboro hotels travelers will find, and caters mostly to couples. Originally built as a private home in 1871, the hotel owns nearly 18 full acres of woods and walking paths that surround the inn. Prices, which are between $125 and $250 per night, include a full breakfast served by candlelight in the morning as well as private bathrooms in each unit. The front porch swing is still in place for rocking, and in general this hotel feels like true southern comfort. The drive into downtown will take about 15 minutes from the inn.

Wherever you choose to stay in Greensboro, there are some great things to do in and around this town. In addition to the Greensboro Coliseum, the city of Greensboro is only about a 30 minute drive from the historic town of Winston Salem, where Morovian culture permeates restuarants and tourist shopping. If you head east from Greensboro, you will find the city of Raleigh in about an hour and a half by car. As the state capital, Raleigh is home to the state capital building as well as the North Carolina Museum of Art and is also a great place to find historic Raleigh hotels.
