Oregon Events

Events

A number of fun Portland Oregon events, Eugene Oregon events and Ashland Oregon events can be enjoyed throughout the calendar year.  An excellent mix of cultural events and outdoor Oregon events are available for locals and visitors.  Whether you come to Oregon specifically for a festival, or simply find yourself in the midst of one, there are some great ways to celebrate holidays with the people of Oregon.

Portland Rose Festival

It is impossible to talk about Portland Oregon events without mentioning the annual Rose Festival.   Throughout the month of June, Portland celebrates its tradition of testing and growing some of the world’s most incredible roses.  A major street parade, a fun run and a fireworks show are just a few of the fun ways to enjoy the rose festival.  Though the exact dates change each year, the festivities always happen in the first two weeks of June, at various locations throughout Portland.

Oregon Seafood and Wine Festival

The first weekend in February is the time to celebrate two of Oregon’s most treasured exports; wine and seafood.  Held at the Oregon convention Center in downtown Portland, this is one of the most popular Portland Oregon events in the winter.  Tickets prices include food, wine, and entertainment for the entire evening.

Oregon Bach Festival

Foremost in the lineup of Eugene Oregon events is the annual summer Oregon Bach Festival.  Held each year in the city of Eugene, the Bach Festival lasts from the last week of June until the end of the first week or so of July.  The festival takes place at the University of Oregon’s Center for the Performing Arts, and features night after night of gripping Bach music performed by area orchestras.

Lane County Fair

The Lane County Fair is another of the best Eugene Oregon events.  Held each August at the Lane County Fairgrounds, the fair lasts for five days and features local wildlife, rides, and is one of the largest fairs each year in the Pacific Northwest.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival

Perhaps one of the best known Oregon events is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.  The Oregon Shakespeare Festival takes place each year in the southern Oregon town of Ashland, and is the largest Shakespeare Festival in the world.  This may be due to the fact that it runs almost continually; there are plays being performed each year from February until November.  If you have never been, this is one of the gems of Oregon.

Portland Brewfest

The city of Portland is known throughout the United States as home to more microbreweries than any other city in the nation.  Every summer, the locals come out to show off their concoctions at the annual brewfest, held right in the city.  Beer lovers will enjoy trying some of the best microbrews in the country, all in one sunny afternoon.
