Lancaster Hotels

The city of Lancaster is a great place to visit for many reasons. Although it is not as large as some other cities in Pennsylvania such as Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, its is still a great place to take a vacation and close to some of the most interesting sites for exploring the life of the Amish in Pennsylvania. Lancaster hotels offer traditional lodging, Lancaster bed and breakfast hotels and some great historic hotels in Lancaster.


Carriage House


This is one of the most popular Lancaster bed and breakfast hotels. First constructed in 1913, the rooms are not only decorated in a older farm-house style, but feature plenty of modern amenities to make any stay at this hotel Lancaster comfortable. This is also one of the best Lancaster hotels to stay in for guests who want to travel around downtown Lancaster, as it is within walking distance of many of the most popular downtown Lancaster attractions.


Alden House Bed and Breakfast


This is another Lancaster bed and breakfast and is also a popular choice among Lancaster hotels located downtown. This hotel Lancaster features was first constructed in the 19th century and for travelers who hope to eat at downtown Lancaster restaurants it is conveniently located close to most of them.


Red Roof Inn


One of the larger hotels in Lancaster and yet retains a feeling of cozy welcome. Along with a pool outdoors and a laundry room, this hotel Lancaster also serves a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning in the lobby between 6am and 9am. For folks who want to take the famous Amish Farm and House Tour, the Red Roof Inn is only one mile away and a pleasant walk for those travelers hoping to see a bit of the Pennsylvania countryside. Pets are also allowed her, making the Red Roof a good choice for those guests who just can’t bear to part with their pet.


Country Inn and Suites


Located on the outskirts of town, this is a good choice for travelers hoping to find a budget hotel in Lancaster. The hotel is quite large, with over 70 rooms, and all of the guest rooms are suites with refrigerators and microwaves to aid guests who want to eat in at times. In the morning, guests will find a continental breakfast awaiting them and complimentary USA Today newspapers for perusing.


Willow Valley Resort and Conference Center


This is one of the top Lancaster hotel choices for travelers in town on business or hoping for more of a resort experience. Over 300 guest rooms and different kinds of suites are found here at this Lancaster hotel, as well as three different swimming pools, a private golf course and an in-house spa. The hotel is also home to one of Lancaster’s largest conference centers, which is over 20,000 square feet. There is also a wedding chapel.


From the town of Lancaster, travelers will also find there are some fun Pennsylvania day trips.  The big city of Philadelphia is less than 2 hours from Lancaster, and travelers who come here can see Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  The Philadelphia Zoo and the Franklin Institute are also found here in Philadelphia.  Gettysburg is also a short drive from Lancaster.  Bring a picnic lunch and check out the Gettysburg National Museum and the site of the Battle of Gettysburg.
