The Memphis Botanic Garden
collection is comprised of 23 specialty gardens covering
a total of 96 acres. A favorite of among visitors is the
breathtaking Japanese garden which includes ponds with
goldfish and lovely bridges which can be seen on the candlelight
evening tours in during summer months. The Japanese Garden
of Tranquility is a beach garden that includes bamboo,
a primary element of the garden. The Memphis Botanic Garden
aims to connect plants and people and establish harmony
between people and nature while increasing environmental

The Memphis Botanic Gardens provide a convenient month-by-month
blooming calender so visitors will know when certain flowers

media mediums by regional and local artists and provides
a good opportunity when shopping for art. During public
hours at the Memphis Botanic Gardens visitors can view

The Memphis Botanic Gardens also offers adult workshops
and events of various kinds. Sketching, painting and multimedia
are a few of the more popular classes taken. Other classes
available through the Memphis Botanic Garden are Stonescaping,
Horticulture Therapy and Nature Arts. On the 2nd Wednesday
of each month the garden hosts classes covering a new
horticultural topic each week with an expert through their
Brown Bag Lunch and Learn Series. The atmosphere is inviting
and relaxed and classes begin at noon. Past topics include
Plant CSI, Planting to Attract Wildlife and Using a Plant
ID Key.

The Memphis Botanic Garden is open to the public from
April through to October Monday to Saturday from 9am to
6pm and Sunday from 11am to 6pm. From November to April
the gardens are open from 9am to 4:30pm Monday thru Saturday
and on Sundays from 11am to 4:30pm. If interested in plant
life a visit to the gardens is one of the things
