Methow Valley Lodging | Methow River Fishing

The Methow Valley is one the most beautiful areas of Washington State. Located in the northeastern part of the state in the scenic Cascade Mountains, the Methow Valley WA is an area of relatively untouched natural beauty. In recent years, it has become a major attraction for fans of outdoors or extreme recreation: hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, horse riding, rock climbing, fishing, white-water rafting, and other activities.

The Methow River Washington, a tributary of the Columbia River, is known as a Mecca for Washington fishing. Fly fishers flock to the Methow River Washington for its salmon, whitefish, steelhead, and various species of trout. Fishing on the Methow River is open between June 1st and September 30th (August 15th on select sections).

The Methow River Washington is also a favored site for white-water rafting. In spring, the rocky path of the Methow River makes for some thrilling rafting trips.

The famous Pacific Crest trail runs through Methow Valley WA and this area of the northern Cascades has many other lesser-known paths for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. In winter, these paths become some of the finest cross-country trails anywhere in Washington State. With fun activities in every season, vacation rentals in Methow Valley are popular year-round.

The charming town of Winthrop is the recreation hub for Methow Valley WA. Located at the doorstep of the North Cascades National Park right on the North Cascades Scenic Highway, Winthrop seems to be lifted directly from a Hollywood Western movie. Re-created Old West facades and a covered wooden sidewalk transport visitors back to the days when the Methow Valley WA was a bustling mining area. Today, Winthrop is home to many of the best Methow accommodations.

Methow accommodations range from the high-end Sun Mountain Lodge Washington to simple campsites. In Winthrop, the Hotel Rio Vista follows the Old West style of other town building, but has quality modern amenities inside. Other Winthrop hotels include Mt Garner Inn, Chewuch Inn, and the small Duck Brand Hotel. Sun Mountain, Wolfridge, Freestone Inn, and the Virginian resorts offer the best in Methow accommodations.

Other choices for Methow accommodations are vacation rentals in Methow Valley. Cottages, cabins, or family lodges are scattered around Methow Valley WA. These vacation rentals in Methow Valley are good for larger groups or intimate stays over a long weekend or week. Internet booking sites or rental companies in Winthrop or elsewhere in the Methow Valley are the best places to find rental houses in the area.

For more down to earth Methow accommodations look to the campsites in Okanogan and Wenatchee National Forests or the North Cascades National Park. Sites are available for tents or RVs, often for as little as $5 a night. In winter, Rendezvous Huts around Winthrop make great resting places along the region’s cross-country ski trails.

Tourism is now the major industry of the Methow Valley WA. Methow accommodations are among the best in the Cascades. But despite the increased popularity, the Methow River Washington remains a pristine fishing ground surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the Pacific Northwest.
