White Water Rafting

White water rafting in Washington is one of the most exciting ways to see the great outdoors and the rivers in Washington State Parks. Washington is filled with mountain peaks and ranges. Every year, hundreds of inches of snow falls on Washington Mountains. In the spring, the snow melts, creating conditions that make river rafting one of the top things to do in Washington.

There are many major rivers in every type of setting, from canyon to alpine meadows. Some of the best places to enjoy white water rafting in Washington are the Skagit, White Salmon, Skykomish, and the Wenatchee Rivers. If you've never gone kayaking or white water rafting, there are many companies that offer classes and guided tours of Washington's most thrilling rivers. The wilderness of the Olympic Peninsula and of Washington State is what most visitors come here to see, and getting on the river is definitely fun and one of the top things to do in Washington.

White Salmon is to the south, a short 20-minute drive from Hood River in Oregon. With raging rapids and a waterfall to boot, White Salmon is one of the best spots for white water rafting Washington State has.

Beginning in the North Cascades, the Skykomish River winds through some of the most beautiful wilderness in Eastern Washington. The most experienced boaters will have a challenge navigating Boulder Drop. This is a fast paced river, and other hazards like the Lunch Hole and the Deka Vu will keep you on edge the entire time. You can enjoy the most thrilling, adrenaline filled rides in the Skykomish River, which has a reputation for the most intense white water rafting Washington has to offer.

Also in the cascade, the Skagit River offers peaceful flatwater areas and an excellent stretch of white water. Companies such as Blue Sky Outfitters arrange trips for visitors on the Skagit River. You can stay at their Bed and Breakfast on the river, or camp nearby.

Aside from Lake Chelan and the quaint Bavarian town of Leavenworth, the Wenatchee river is the reason many tourists come to the area. Visitors that are new to white water rafting in Washington will enjoy going on the Wenatchee. Some of the most thrilling and enjoyable scenic spots for white water rafting Washington are on the Wenatchee.

River Drifters is another company that offers tours to the rivers in the state. Fifteen miles of rivers offers non-stop rapids, making this a great place where you can experience prime white water rafting in Washington.

You can enjoy really long trips on the river with Blue Sky Outfitters. They offer classes of all different levels. There are trips to make of the major river for white water rafting in Washington and also have the option of a stay at the bed and breakfast with their packages. Wave Trek also has river adventures in the North Cascades.
